FRACKING for shale gas remains an energy option in Hampshire as oil prices fall, the Hampshire branch of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) has said.

Many new licences had been granted for exploration in the south of England, and these could be implemented over time. It had no objection in principle to shale gas exploration and extraction.
