FUNDRAISERS were happy to splash the cash when the Friends of Langrish Pool held a swimathon in Petersfield on Sunday.
But there were a few sore limbs the following day with the event at the open air pool raising more than £1,000 for the good cause.
Adults and children swam 1,700 lengths in total while some of the older swimmers completed 200 lengths, according to Angharad Snow.
“A lot of the parents who swam 200 lengths were feeling quite sore on Monday,” said the co-organiser, adding: “We haven’t got a definitive figure yet but it’s over £1,000 which is quite impressive.”
Talks between the group and Hampshire County Council over the lease for the village pool are continuing.
