ON A MISSION to connect people with poetry however best he can, is Write Angle’s January guest Justin Coe.

This energetic performance poet has since the late 1990s been taking his lively mix of puckish poetics and heartfelt humour to venues from Sheppey to Shanghai, and from the Savoy Hotel to street corners.

In recent years he has specialised in creating spoken word shows, including My Creepy-Crawly Story House and The Dictionary of Dads, and The Jumble Book, based on his experience as a dyslexic boy at school.

With fellow poets Rosie Harris and Sophie Rose he wrote and performed in One Way Ticket, which explored the child migration scandal of the 1950s.

His work is accessible and interactive and can be enjoyed at Write Angle, at the Folly Upstairs, Petersfield on Tuesday, January 19, 7.15pm for 7.30pm. Tickets £5.

Write Angle would love to see some new faces at the open mic nights, which are friendly and welcoming.

“Many who thought they could never read in public, have stood up at the mic and found it wasn’t as difficult as they thought, and others have caught the bug,” said co-organiser Leah Cohen.
