A WALKING football match organised by a Petersfield company has netted £1,000 for charity.

Zone Marketing of Bedford Road presented a cheque from the proceeds of the event to the Winton House Centre in the High Street, Petersfield.

Zone Marketing’s operations director Rebecca Pelley and digital marketing manager Tom Fenton, with office mascot dog Mekka, handed the cheque over to Winton trustee Amanda Greenlee.

The unusual, more leisurely, football match was held to allow for players of all abilities to join in the fun. The day was a great success, with friends and family cheering on the sidelines, and barbecue food and cake afterwards.

The company, based in Petersfield for ten years, wanted to give something back to the town.

They chose Winton House for its great work with, among others, dementia sufferers at its Memory Café, and as it relied largely on voluntary funding.

The money will be used to help with maintenance projects needed at the centre.
