THE WEATHER outside was frightful but the mood inside Petersfield Festival Hall was delightful on Saturday as Christmas shoppers did their bit for a Hampshire charity.

Sarah Bolton and her merry band of fundraisers from the Clanfield area are jingling all the way to The Rowans Hospice as their Christmas Fair has raised at least £3,700 for the good cause.

People from afar as Kingston, Salisbury and the New Forest attended the event, which featured everything from Christmas cards and chocolates to dog products and ponchos.

“The feedback we had from stallholders is that it was a really well-run, well-managed event with a lovely atmosphere,” said Mrs Bolton. “There was a great mix of stalls and a lot of people were able to buy Christmas presents.”

The event, sponsored by Signature Kitchens, was the second to be organised by Mrs Bolton and friends as the inaugural fair was held to thank the charity for the care they gave her late husband.
