KIND-HEARTED residents at Rother House in Liss have raised vital money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester.
The residents raised £150 for the hospice at an afternoon of ukulele music at Rother House.
This is the third time Rother House residents and the Liss community have supported good causes together, with The Rosemary Foundation and Help For Heroes previously receiving £150 each.
The residents decided to raise the money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice after hearing the story of Radian’s independent living officer Bev Tune.

Plans submitted for 30 new homes in Liss - but where's the affordable housing?Bev’s mother was looked after by St Wilfrid’s Hospice staff before she passed away, and Bev decided to raise money for the hospice to show her appreciation.
Bev said: “My sister and I took part in a moonlight walk and raised more than £500 for St Wilfrid’s. I wanted to show my appreciation for how kind and caring the hospice staff were.”
Rother House itself will now be the beneficiary of a fundraiser following residents’ charitable efforts.
Liss Triangle Centre will hold a fundraising coffee morning for Rother House this Saturday.
The coffee bar will be open from 9.30am to noon and proceeds raised on the day will be donated to the care home and will go towards a communal television for residents.
Savouries and homemade cakes will also be on sale, and visitors will also be able to guess the weight of a cake, guess the number of sweets in a jar, and guess the name of a teddy bear.
Jigsaw puzzles and books will be on sale. There will also be a raffle, with prizes donated by Liss shopkeepers, and there will be a free draw for people who buy a coffee or some cake. There will be two £5 cash prizes for the winning tickets.
