A CHARITY based in Langrish is holding a fundraising quiz at the Holiday Inn in Winchester on April 23 – St George’s Day.

This is the fourth time the venue has hosted the event for assistance dog charity Hounds for Heroes, which was founded by Clanfield resident Allen Parton.

It will include a ‘Best of British Food’ fork buffet, with the hotel’s AA Rosette Award winning team presenting British food using local produce.

Hotel sales and marketing manager Sarah Waddington said: “We are inviting teams of six to ten people to register for this special event and have their knowledge on all things English tested.

“The hotel has been sponsoring Hounds for Heroes for the last six years, providing free accommodation to injured service personnel and space for them to train with their new assistance dogs.

"The staff at the hotel just love hosting them and creating a real home from home for the veterans – and of course making a fuss of the assistance dogs.

“We are very proud to be able to help raise funds for this locally based charity who every day make a difference to injured service personnel across the UK."

The buffet will be served from 7pm and the quiz starts at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £18 per person, which includes the buffet. To book, call 01962 392893 option 4, or email [email protected]
