THE ANNUAL Petersfield Round Table charity fundraising fireworks display raised a record amount this year for local groups.
More than 5,000 people enjoyed the bonfire and display on Bell Hill recreation ground, raising more than £13,000 for Petersfield charities and organisations.
Round Table fireworks spokesman Tom North said: “It was absolutely brilliant, I can’t thank everyone who came enough, the more people come the more is raised for good causes in Petersfield.
“Last year we raised £7,000, and this year it was £11,000, mostly thanks to the good weather which meant more people came along and enjoyed the evening.
“Over the next year we will start allocating the money, and if anyone knows a local cause they would like us to consider helping they should contact us.
“I would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped on the day, without them this event put on by the town for the town, wouldn’t happen.”
