A COFFEE morning at the Triangle Centre raised vital funding for the Crossover Youth Centre.
The Triangle Centre’s coffee bar supports a different charity once a month, and the Crossover Youth Centre benefitted this month.
Some of the youngsters who benefit from the youth centre’s services got involved with the coffee morning.
Crossover Youth Centre manager and youth worker Georgina Leigh said: “Some of the young people made cakes and scones to sell at the coffee morning.
“Other young people took board games and table tennis to play at the Triangle Centre during the coffee morning.
“We got donations from the cake sales and the Triangle Centre’s coffee bar, and more than £200 was raised for the youth centre.
“The coffee morning went really well and the young people got involved.”
The Crossover Youth Centre is also looking for more volunteers.
“We’re still looking to expand our team,” said Georgina.
“As always we need more volunteers and we’re looking for part-time workers.
“Anybody who is interested can get in contact for an informal chat.”
Sessions will continue to run at the Crossover Youth Centre during the Easter holidays, although it is expected that there will be a revised timetable.
“We are planning our Easter timetable at the moment,” said Georgina.
“A lot of the sessions have been busy, and we have had some good craft projects.
“The tennis sessions at Newman Collard have been popular and I would like to thank the tennis club for letting us use the courts.
“We would like to encourage more young women to get involved in sport with our tennis sessions.”
