One of the worst kept secrets in Petersfield has finally gone public as a bakery chain has shown a sign of things to come.

The wind of change is blowing through The Square as Gail’s looks set to move into the former HSBC unit.

There has been no public announcement as they told the Post their property teams keep plans “tightly wrapped” until leases are signed, with a spokeswoman adding: “We currently don’t have any further information to share on the opening.”

But the game seems up, as adverts for various roles at the Petersfield branch have appeared on the Gail’s website and similar sites like Indeed.

Furthermore, the ‘for sale’ signs have been removed while a planning application to install new Gail’s signage has been lodged with the South Downs National Park Authority.
