THE WORLD premiere of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny is bringing the exploits of the eponymous cabbage-crunching, criminal mastermind to the stage at the King’s Theatre, Southsea.

It’s Friday night and Ben knows that can only mean one thing – staying with Granny.

There will be cabbage soup, cabbage pie and cabbage cake and Ben knows one thing for sure: it’s going to be soooooo boring – or is it?

What he doesn’t know is that Granny has a secret and Friday nights are about to get more exciting than he could imagine.

Gangsta Granny, being brought to Portsmouth by the Birmingham Stage Company, is laugh out loud funny with some brilliant comic scenes, but is also moving and has truthful things to say about family relationships.

David Walliams is now the best-selling author for children in the country.

He said:?“I?am over the moon that Gangsta Granny is coming to the King’s.

“It’s the most popular of all my books, and I’m sure this production by the brilliant Birmingham Stage Company will delight not just children, but their parents, and of course, grandparents.”

The show runs from January 19 to 23. Tickets are £12 to £21.50, available from the box office on 023 9282 8282.
