A GRAHAM Greene classic is being brought to the stage in an evening of hilarity and satire with innovative theatre company Creative Cow.

A witty adaptation of spy thriller Our Man in Havana is being performed at Theatre Royal Winchester from June 19 to 24, with evening and matinee shows.

Known as one of Greene’s ‘entertainments’, this is a tale of luckless vacuum cleaner salesman Jim Wormold who gets sucked into a dirty world of espionage and double agents when the chance of helping out M15 proves irresistible.

The compelling and subversion play is set in 1950s Havana but has many references to present day life, and has a renewed relevance with all the political uncertainty in the world.

Creative Cow enjoyed success with Greene’s Travels with my Aunt last year, and actor and theatre group co-founder Katherine Senior is looking forward to another outing with the author.

“We’re delighted to be touring with another popular Greene classic and we know our Winchester audience will love it,” she said.
