PORTSMOUTH Hospitals Charity has said a big thank you to Petersfield supporters for their festive goodwill.

A cheque for £600 has been handed over as a result of the profit made at the Giant Christmas Charity Market.

The market fundraiser organised by brothers Martin and Jeremy Holmes was held earlier this month in the hall of The Petersfield School in Cranford Road with more than 35 craft, trade and charity stalls.

Michelle Bowdidge, fundraising manager at Portsmouth Hospitals, was delighted with the donation to the Cancer Services Fund, particularly in these challenging times, she said.

She added: “Thank you very much for all your support – your donation will enable the department to enhance patient care.

“Thank you so much to everyone who attended the event and donated.”

She thanked the brothers for another successful event and also for the many years of fundraising through their charity markets that have supported major appeals at Portsmouth Hospitals for more than three decades.

The cheque hand-over was in the Garden of Life at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
