THE ANNUAL Harting Festivities was a great success says organisers, who are asking local groups to apply for grants from the profits of the all-day fair.
Event spokesman Philippa Franklin said: “Despite the weather, it was well attended and a very enjoyable day. If parish groups would like to apply for grants we would love to hear from them.”
For the festivities, now in their 57th year in the present format, the village is closed to traffic, and the entertainments and stalls go on in the main street.
The day got under way in traditional manner, with members of the Old Club Friendly Society parading to the church.
Philippa added: “The parade was enjoyed by everyone, as was the dog show, and the Knockhundred Shuttles morris and clog dancers. The day was a great success.”
