LOCAL environmentalists campaigning to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change were in Petersfield Square to raise awareness of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report that claims it’s ’Code Red for humanity’.
Green Petersfield town councillor Peter Bisset (right) joined Alison Evan of Liphook on the peaceful protest.
Alison said: "The IPCC report is a clear warning we must all take an active part in reducing levels of CO2, from pressuring government to ending investment in fossil fuels, to changing our behaviour individually.
"I have beautiful grandchildren who are facing an uncertain and hazardous future because of our inability to grasp the seriousness of this or, worse still, realise what is happening but refuse to make any changes in their lives.

"It’s all down to money again, but what use will that be in an uninhabitable world?
"Sadly it’s all talk and no action from this government."
