ONE OF Hampshire’s brightest sporting stars is coming to Horndean to officially open the Post Office counter within the Spar store off London Road.

Commonwealth Gold Medallist, Kelly Simm, has been given the honour of cutting the ribbon with the ceremony taking place at 11am next Wednesday, September 9.

The Southampton-born athlete is being tipped as a future Olympic medallist after picking up gold, silver and bronze medals at the World University Games 2015 in Gwangju, South Korea.

There will also be a children’s competition and giveaway at the ceremony with a Post Office playset, Minion backpack and annual membership pass to Staunton Country Park among the top prizes.
