THE SUN shone for this year’s Harting Festivities on Bank Holiday Monday.

Organisers were pleased with how the event went, and said the weather helped.

Philippa Franklin, who is on the event’s organising committee, said: “The weather was stunning and this year’s festivities were really well received.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it was absolutely packed. We try and keep the festivities as educational as we can, and we had a lot of craft stalls.

“The traditional Harting Old Club march is always well received, and we had more than 50 entries in the fancy dress competition.

“The dog show was also loads of fun as usual.

“We had bric-a-brac stalls and a bottle station, and a lot of people in the parish got involved and donated items.

“The shuttle minibus was also well received and a lot of people gave generous donations for the minibus.”
