CHILDREN and staff at Harting Pre-School enjoyed a morning of French fun including singing songs, and cooking French dishes.

In full costume, the children impressed their parents with French songs, flag making, French moustaches, and making garlic garlands during the French day on Monday, April 30.

They also counted in French; not bad for children aged three and four years-old, said Harting Pre-School Committee chairman Rachel Lines.

The roleplay area at the pre-school in Harting community hall in Pease Croft was also transformed into an ’Epicerie’, and the children cooked up some delicious French delicacies during the French day on Monday, April 30.

Rachel added: "It was wonderful to see young children speaking French with such confidence and clearly enjoying sharing their new skills with their families."

French is just one of the activities introduced at the pre-school to the children starting primary school in September, to help prepare them for the transition.
