HASLEMERE Museum was delighted to host a graduate placement this summer and welcomed Eunsil Jang from the University of Leicester.

South Korean student Eunsil has a Bachelor of Arts degree in archaeology and arts history and is studying for an MA in art museum and gallery studies. She undertook an eight week work placement at the Museum which enabled her to put into practice the many skills she has developed on the course.

During her time Eunsil primarily photographed artefacts from the museum’s diverse European Peasant Arts collection. Whilst undertaking this project, she also learn’t how to condition check these remarkable items as well as gaining experience of the museum’s extensive collections management database.

Eunsil, who recently returned to South Korea, thoroughly enjoyed her work placement at the museum and said: “Whilst on my placement I’ve had the chance to work in a range of departments, from collections to education and have particularly enjoyed my work helping out with the museum’s family-friendly events.”

Visitors to the museum’s website will be able to search through Eunsil’s photographs of the European Peasant Arts collection when these are added onto the online database next year.
