SOME of Haslemere’s best stocked gardens, including Sir Vernon Ellis’s Shalford House garden, will be providing some unusual plants for Haslemere Museum’s Spring Plant Sale.

Organised by museum trustees Jane Clayton and Sarah Bain, the sale at the High Street venue is on this Saturday.

Jane said: “In addition to the generous contribution from Shalford House, there will be a huge array of perennials, summer bedding, vegetables and herbs, mostly raised and nurtured by the museum’s more green-fingered trustees, volunteers and friends, filling our lecture hall.

“We are very grateful to our patron, Sir Vernon, and our sponsors, Transform Landscapes and Furnace Place Estate, for their generous support for this event.”

Transform Landscapes will be running a garden surgery during the sale.

All proceeds will be going towards the work of the museum. Jane added: “The funds raised by this event make a big difference to us because Haslemere Museum is independent and receives no public funding.”

The plant sale runs from 11am-1pm and entry to the museum and the plant sale is free. Shalford House garden is open on May 20, from 2-5.30pm.
