A COUPLE of months ago, Petersfield Lions Club were approached by a lady in need of help sourcing a replacement mobility scooter.

Lynn’s current wheelchair was over 12 years old and now beyond repair.

Because of her limited mobility, she was mostly housebound and seldom saw other people.

Her greatest joy was visiting her granddaughter, who also lives in Petersfield.

However, because of the issues with her mobility scooter, Lynn had not been able to see them since Christmas and this had left a big gap in her life.

Petersfield Lions Club looked into the possibility of funding a replacement and found it was possible with a fully reconditioned mobility scooter through Ashwood Mobility.

This was presented to Lynn at the Lion’s Charity Corner Stall in The Square on Saturday, April 16.

Lynn said she was thoroughly delighted with it, as it will enable her to get out and about again.

She added: “It was nice to meet some of the Lions and thank them personally.”

Petersfield Lions Club formed in 1972 and has been helping the local community ever since through service, fundraising and raising awareness of world issues.
