MORE firms in Petersfield have signed up for the Dementia Friendly Petersfield initiative.

Costa in Rams Walk shopping mall, the Cancer Research charity shop and Henry Adams – both based in the High Street – are latest town centre outlets to pledge their commitment to campaign launched by East Hampshire MP?Damian Hinds – and backed by the Petersfield Post.

The idea of the initiative is to make Petersfield a more understanding and easier place to visit for people living with dementia

Staff at the companies who sign up to the scheme are given a one hour training session so they gain a better understanding of the condition and how best to help and serve people who come into their stores who have dementia.

Once they have completeded their training, staff are given certificates and stores will display the Dementia Friendly Petersfield logo.
