MUCH-needed humanitarian aid cash for war-torn Syria will be boosted by the Rogate and Terwick Christmas Market.

The Barnabus Fund is a Christian organisation providing aid to the Middle East, and one of the few ways remaining to send money to Syria.

And this is one of the three causes being supported by the big festive event on Saturday, November 28, from 10am to 1pm, which attracts scores of Christmas shoppers from the village and Petersfield.

The Rogate Village Hall will be filled with many enticing stalls selling attractive presents, crafts, toys and good quality bric-a-brac, homemade cakes, jams and preserves and advent calendars.

There will also be a bottle tombola stall stacked with bottles of all kinds, and a raffle with many exciting prizes.

Father Christmas will be in his grotto between 10.30am and 11.30am. Coffee, soup and light lunches will be available and the Grand Raffle will be drawn at noon.

A present stall will be stacked with anything new beginning with a ‘P’ including perfume, plants and more.

There are collection boxes in the village church porch and at the school for toys in good condition to be sold at the market.

Proceeds will also be given to Stone Pillow, offering shelter and support to empower homeless people in the area, and the Parish Emergency Fund, set up to send financial assistance immediately to disaster areas at home and abroad.
