The 70th annual Denmead Horticultural Society Summer Show in All Saints Church hall and grounds was a resounding success.
Show spokesman Nicky Pendleton said: “Despite the rain there was a great turnout, and a lovely atmosphere.”
The arena staged an enthusiastic over-50s dance demonstration by the Better Body Club led by Lisa Lingard, and Malcolm the Magician kept everyone entertained with his conjuring tricks and balloon modelling, while Homes and Hounds of Denmead organised a splendid Fun Dog Show.
Among other attractions at the show on Saturday, August 21, there were also ice creams and plant stalls.
A tea garden served delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches, tea, coffee and soft drinks, while Pimms was on offer at the bar.
Nicky added: “2020 was our 70th year but as we were unable to hold the show then, this was our 70th summer show.
“We would like to thank the vicar of All Saints Church for making us welcome for another year, and numerous local groups and businesses who supported the show with stalls, tombola prizes and publicity and local farmers for transport, hay bales and much-needed muscle on show day.”
