A HOSPITAL used by East Hampshire patients has been recognised for the high standard of training and learning that it offers its staff.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital at Guildford has been awarded the Skills for Health Quality Mark for Education following a rigorous assessment process.

Delivered through the National Skills Academy for Health, the Quality Mark provides a framework that defines and endorses superior learning and training standards that healthcare employers need to cultivate a world-class work force.

In order to achieve the accolade, the hospital trust underwent an on-site visit, teaching observations and interviews and much more.

This is the first time that Royal Surrey has been awarded the Quality Mark and it will last for two years.

Chief Executive Paula Head said: “We recognise that our staff are our most valuable asset and as such we are committed to ensuring they have access to world-class training and development opportunities.

“We are delighted to have achieved the Quality Mark for Education which acknowledges our undertaking to ensure our staff have the skills and experience they need to do the job they love.”
