A SCOUT leader has spoken of his amazement after receiving a £70,000 donation which will allow his group to build a hut they have been dreaming of.
Leader of the 1st Sheet (St Mary's) Scout Group Chris May came home to find the donation in the form of a cheque, from a charitable trust which wants to remain anonymous.
The group and parents have fund-raised £65,000 over the last eight years towards the hut and, with the new donation, they can refurbish and extend their current base at Sheet Recreation Ground, Inmans Lane.
"I can't describe the feeling – it's just unbelievable. It's like winning the lottery," said Chris....
