Hampshire county councillor Rob Humby said: “We have an unusual situation where two school crossing patrol officers at Herne have become ill.
“Owing to ill health, the crossing patrol officer in Pulens Lane has sadly had to resign, and the lady in Moggs Mead is off sick, though we are hopeful she will be able to return.
“My best wishes go to them both, and we’re providing as much relief cover as we can while the vacant post is recruited to, and I would ask parents to bear with us while we try to resolve this situation.”
