Petersfield Theatre Group’s November production of Sondheim’s Into the Woods, is only days away and already, tickets are selling fast.
Hot on the heels of Pirates of Penzance and Thoroughly Modern Millie, rehearsals have been gathering apace in preparation for show week November 18-21.
The cast have been honing their skills across the demanding rehearsal schedule.
Director Penny Young, whose direction of South Pacific in 2013 won a National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) award said: “The show is challenging and exciting for everyone, not just the actors.
"The set designers and constructors, lighting designer and sound designer and management team have been hard at work.
"Many costumes have been made particularly for this show and look out for the amazing array of props, especially Jack’s cow!
"This show brings a huge variety of music too – comic, sinister, dramatic, reflective. There are brilliant ensembles, famous show-stoppers such as ‘The Last Midnight’ and the wonderfully consoling ‘No one is Alone’ near the end.”
Into the Woods is at Petersfield Festival Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 18 to Saturday 21, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are available from Petersfield Tourist Information Centre on 01730 268829 or on-line at www.petersfieldtheatregroup.org
