ROWLANDS Castle residents are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Rowlands Castle Association (RCA) early next month.

Every village resident is a member of the association that puts on events for those living inside the parish boundary and further afield.

The business part of the meeting in the Parish Hall in Links Lane starts at 7pm on Wednesday, February 5.

It includes the election of association officers and an account of the year, and this part is usually quite short.

After the official business, there will then be a short talk by the head forester for the Stansted Park Foundation, Michael Prior.

He will talk about the current situation in Stansted Forest, and why so many trees have had to be cut down over the last few months.

He will also be happy to answer questions. The talk will be followed by drinks and refreshments.

Association chairman Helen Penfold said: “It is your association, so please come as this is a great way to find out a bit more and to share a drink with other residents.”
