IF YOU thought panto had been packed away for another year, think again. Here comes Cinderella to bring some sparkle to February.

You will go to the ball, as Liphook’s Methodist Amateur Dramatic (MAD) Company presents its traditional pantomime at the new venue of Liphook Millennium Centre from February 24 to 26.

Audiences are invited to join the goodly folk of Merrivale as they eagerly await the return of the hapless Baron Breadline of Pennyless Manor, with his new wife and her two ‘unusual’ daughters.

Meanwhile the sweet and beautiful Cinders dreams of true love as she slaves away in the kitchen in rags, while her best friend Buttons dreams only of confessing his true feelings for her.

Since the formation of The MAD?Company in 1991, and the first production of Cinderella, the February panto has been a popular event.

“The aim has always been to bring, laughter, fun and the spirit of traditional pantomime to the community,” said writer and director Vanessa Breach. “The stories are timeless and enjoyed by young and old today, just as they have always been. “We love staging our productions.”

Performances are at 7.30pm on Friday, February 24, 3pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, February 25, and 3pm on Sunday, February 26. Tickets are £10 adults, £6 children. Call 01730 263152.
