POETRY is having something of a moment in Petersfield this month, with events to delight lovers of verse.
There is an intriguing marriage of poetry and electronic soundscapes from Project Adorno, guests at Write Angle at The Townhouse pub and bistro in the High Street, on Tuesday, November 15, at 7.30pm.
In their retro striped blazers, the duo draw on influences as diverse as French chanson, Cockney music hall and 80s electro pop in one of the most eclectic acts on the spoken word circuit today.
Their brand of beat poetry has been performed at various venues throughout the UK, and they have produced many CDs, the latest being Underground Overdue. In this Write Angle show they will be presenting an ambient segue of original songs, samples and poetry, charting TV dramatist Dennis Potter’s journey from miner’s cottage to international acclaim.
