LISS resident Jeremy Hayward is skydiving 15,000ft to raise almost £10,000 for two local charities.

He hopes to raise £8,000 for the White Eagle Lodge for a ground-source heat pump, a hi-tech way of heating its new temple at New Lands in Liss, and £1,500 for Compassion in World Farming (CIWF), founded by local farmer Peter Roberts in 1967 that opened its first office in Petersfield.

Peter also opened the Bran Tub health food shop in Lavant Street, which is now run by his daughter Gill.
