Petersfield Lions Club’s annual peace poster competition was won by Esme Ostersen, a Year 7 pupil at The Petersfield School.

Her quote on peace was: “The idea of peace is one thing, creating peace is another, but in the end it is worth striving for.”

The judges – the Lions and artist Caroline Strong – felt Esme’s entry best showed the 2019 theme ‘Journey of Peace’. Lions president Mary Putnam gave Esme a certificate, a framed copy of her picture and a £25 book token from The Petersfield Bookshop. Highly commended were Eleanor Dudman, Ella Brotherton and Poppy Cooksey. Esme’s picture came second in the Lions District 105SC contest.
