BRAMSHOTT, Liphook and District Horticultural Society vice-president Peter Catt swept the board at the society’s first show of the year.

Peter was delighted to win the Ted Baker Cup for best in show as well as the Tony West Salver for the best exhibit in the daffodil classes, both for his perfect exhibit in the trumpet daffodil class.

This was a special honour for him because he had been friends with both Ted Baker and Tony West.

Peter Rogers, who judged the show, was very impressed with the high quality of the exhibits and commented that several entries were of national level standard in the daffodil classes.

Liphook Church Centre was a blaze of colour with many entries in the daffodil, tulip and camellia classes.

There were 20 entries in the ‘daffodils purchased at the Autumn Show’ class. First was Heather Bicknell, who narrowly beat her daughter-in-law Kat Bicknell.

Judge Judith Patrick awarded Helen Brown first prize in the photographic class entitled ‘Spring Fever’.

Cakes were provided by Lesley Hollands.
