A NEW venue for Write Angle this month sees The Townhouse in Petersfield welcome musician Cam Brown.
The accomplished guitar player who has a witty way with words in his songs is at the open mic poetry and music evening on Tuesday, April 19, at 7.30pm.
He is back by popular demand and the audience upstairs at the bistro in High Street will enjoy a barrage of funny songs organised into themes – about social attitudes, relationships, drink, love and more – as well as ballads, and folk poems set to his own tunes.
Singing at the Epsom Folk Club aged 16 was a seminal moment for him. Not only was Paul Simon topping the bill that night, but he was introduced to the traditional, non-PC folk song genre which is now at the core of his repertoire.
Now retired, he’s been a publisher, writer and banker, but now devotes more time to his music. And is proving a real hit on the circuit.
“He’ll have you beating your seats, if you can keep up with him, and singing along. He’s an irresistible charmer,” enthused Write Angle’s Leah Cohen. Visit www.petersfieldwriteangle.co.uk
