THE PETERSFIELD and District Angling Club’s annual presentation evening made its long-awaited return on Saturday.
Not all of the 2021-22 season’s events went ahead because of lockdown and social-distancing restrictions, but nine awards were presented for events that did take place.
Chris Knight had an outstanding season with some solid performances to take five of the nine awards that were up for grabs, including two major trophies – the Masters and the Aggregate Cup.
Knight also added the Feeder Trophy and two runners-up awards – in the Away Series and Float Only competitions – to his collection.
Kris Collins also received five awards – winning the Away Series, Float Only and Drawn Pairs Trophies – and runners-up awards for the Masters and Aggregate trophies.
Other awards went to Kevin Gee in the Drawn Pairs, Peter Jones in the Night Trophy, Graham Potter in the Silverfish Series and George Brickwood in the FLE Challenge.
Match secretary Andy Reed said the club’s match group is growing from strength to strength every year.
With more than 30 anglers, the club are now holding 35 to 40 events a year.
The club have entered teams in national events for the past three years and also reached the regional semi-finals of the Angling Times/Bait-Tech Super Cup scheduled for July.
The club’s match group is open to any club member, and new members – including those under 16 – are welcome.
