SANTA wasn’t put off by torrential rain and freezing winds on his tour of Petersfield last Sunday night.
Operating to a tight schedule, as he always is at this time of the year, he and his elf helpers from Petersfield Round Table visited Gloucester Close, Noreuil Road, Highfield Road and Barentin Way.
The wet and windy night was just one of three evenings he spent visiting roads in Petersfield and Liss so that youngsters could tell him what they would like for Christmas – and come away with a handful of sweets.
And despite the horrible weather, excited youngsters queued up at each stop-off to see him.
In Gloucester Close, wheelchair-bound Ollie dressed in his festive elf outfit excitedly shouted: “I’m seeing Santa in a tsunami.”
The annual visit is laid on by the Round Table as a thank you to the town for supporting their fundraising efforts during the year, said bedraggled but cheery elf Andy Guest.
