WEST Meon Garden Club will be holding its annual Summer Show in the village hall this Saturday.

There are 87 classes in flowers, vegetables, photography, cookery and craft for people to enter, as well as children’s classes for youngsters to get involved in.

These classes are open to non-members, and there are trophies and prize money to be won.

Visitors are also very welcome to browse the stall and admire all the produce and creativity.

Doors are open to the public from 2.30pm. For exhibitors, doors open at 8.30am and items must be in place ready for judging by 10.30am.

Cups and prizes will be handed out at the show venue from 3.30pm.

Entry to all classes is free, while public entry to the show on Saturday afternoon will cost £1 for adults but children get in free.

Schedules and entry forms are now available in West Meon and Corhampton village shops. These are also available to download and print out from the West Meon and Warnford village websites.

All the judges come from outside the garden club and Royal Horticultural Society rules and regulations apply to the competition.

Completed entry forms should be left at West Meon Village Shop by 5pm today (Wednesday). For any questions about the vegetable classes, contact Bob Miles on 01489 878881. For other enquiries call Yvonne Noble on 01730 829050.

The summer show is the highlight of the club’s year, which also includes a plant sale, garden visit and monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of most months at 7.30pm in West Meon Village Hall.

On October 12 ‘Bee Kind and Garden’ is the subject of a talk by Birgitte Attley and on November 9 the annual general meeting will be held and ‘Autumn Beauties’ is the subject of Kevin Hobbs’ talk.
