IT WAS the street which definitely did have a name – and the crowds flocked to it in the sunshine on Sunday.

Lavant Street in Petersfield was the place to be, for another of its special markets.

Shops opened their doors for the popular event organised by Petersfield Festivals, and shoppers could also browse a wide range of stalls selling everything from homemade crafts to locally-produced food and drink.

It was very much a family affair, with facepainting, animals, rides, a bouncy castle and a fire engine to excite the little ones.

And a great line-up of local musicians kept the hundreds of visitors entertained. Foodies were guaranteed a mouth-watering time too, as the event coincided with the Hampshire Farmers’ Market.

Said organiser Ben Errey:?“It was awesome.

“We were really pleased with the footfall and plan on making it even bigger and better next time.”
