In ‘The Voice of the Piano – the Music of Frédéric Chopin’, Angela will tell the story of one of classical music’s most popular composers and, alongside PowerPoint slides, perform some of Chopin’s best loved works for piano.
“There is so much more to Chopin than the popular perception many people have of him”, said Angela.
“Far from solely being the composer of soothing, innocuous music, Chopin revolutionised music for the piano through the passionate expression of his identity with, and his nostalgia for his homeland, Poland, which had suffered centuries of conflict and repression. His is a truly dramatic story of how so much magnificent music could emanate from such a troubled, short life.”
Angela has performed throughout the UK and abroad and is a lecturer at the Chichester University. Entry to the recital is free with a retiring collection.
