LIPHOOK Carnival committee chairman Karen Feeney stepped down from the role at this year’s annual general meeting.
Karen has been the chairman for the last 11 years, although she will remain involved with helping to organise the carnival.
She has been replaced as carnival committee chairman by Sally Cameron.
Karen said: “It was a very successful annual general meeting and it was my last one as chairman.
“Jill Howie also stepped down as secretary and I thanked her for all her work.
“I thanked everyone who supported the carnival, and Sally Cameron who has taken over from me. I am sad to step down, but Sally will do a fantastic job.
“Sally has rallied round lots of people to help going forward, so hats off to her. I was proud and honoured to have led the carnival committee for so long, and I will still be on the committee.”
The new carnival committee chairman, Sally Cameron, said she is looking forward to the future.
Sally said: “I see and know a lot of people in Liphook and I adore the carnival.
“I am quite positive about Liphook and I decided to step in and help. Every so often you do need change and a few new ideas.
“I joined the committee in November 2016 and I helped raise money at the last carnival walk. The walk was fantastic and I couldn’t believe how good it was. We also had a really great quiz night this year which was a sellout.
“As well as the carnival committee I’ve got a list of people who are friends of the carnival, so people who are happy to help but can’t join the committee can join that list. A lot of people are happy to help.”
Vital money was also handed out to good causes in the community at the annual general meeting.
Other groups who benefited included the Peak Centre, Little Cherubs Nursery, Liphook United Football Club, Liphook Over 60s Club, the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, the fire service, Community Support Laundry of Liphook and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
