LIPHOOK Carnival committee chairman Karen Feeney is stepping down from the role at this year’s annual general meeting.
Karen has been chairman of the organising committee for the last 11 years, although she will remain involved with helping to organise the carnival.
She will be replaced as carnival committee chairman by Sally Cameron.
Karen said: “It has been an honour to be involved and to head up this very important community event for 11 years.
“I’m looking forward to still being part of it with Sally taking over the reins.
“She was very involved last year and she stepped in and helped out on the evening, so she knows what to expect.”
The Liphook Carnival committee’s annual general meeting will be held at the Peak Centre on Wednesday, February 28. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Money will be donated to good causes at the meeting, and all money requests must be sent to Karen by next Wednesday, February 14.
Among the groups that benefited at last year’s annual general meeting were the 1st Liphook Scout Group, Liphook District Guides, the Methodist Amateur Dramatics (MAD) Company, Liphook Methodist Church, Hampshire Search and Rescue, and Liphook Village Hall management committee.
Other groups who benefited included the Peak Centre Trust, Little Cherubs Nursery, Liphook United Football Club, Liphook Over 60s Club, Bramshott and Liphook Voluntary Care Group, the Royal British Legion, the Firefighters Charity, the Community Support Laundry and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
