LIPHOOK in Bloom has paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and helped install a giant poppy in the Millennium bed in Midhurst Road.

Two silent soldiers were installed in the same bed and this year’s tributes finished with a special display of 111 poppies, each one representing one of the fallen men from the Bramshott and Liphook Parish.

The silent soldiers were designed by Peter Harris and made by White’s Joinery in Liphook.

The poppies were designed by Keith Thomas and then stamped out with the black centres by Keith Payne Products in Surrey.

The poppies were positioned by Mr Thomas and Russell Ellis.
