East Hampshire road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnightThe event was organised to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. The hall was patriotically decorated to reflect the significance of the occasion. Ninety-seven ‘quizzers’ attended the evening, answering questions on royalty and the Commonwealth set by Chris and Carol Meech. A raffle was held for prizes including donated meals at The Links and The Deers Hut, with a voucher from Home Farm Slot Car Racing. Food was prepared by the wives and partners of LiDBA members, and a bar provided liquid refreshments to quench the thirst of the participants.
At the end of the evening the best decorated table prize was won by Liphook Scouts and the best dressed quizzer, heading The Frosties team, was Barbara Frost with a head dress. The main team prize was won by the Liphook Village Hall team, who were the recipients of a bottle of wine for each team member. LiDBA expect that the evening will raise more than £1,000 for distribution to charities.
