FROM the top of the trapeze and the lofty heights of the Powerfan platform, children from Year 6 at Churcher’s College Junior School were challenged to take risks and work as a team as they spent an adventure weekend at PGL at Marchant’s Hill, Hindhead.

They had to overcome fears and anxieties as they climbed ladders and ropes and found ways to support and help each other as they completed the low ropes. All children also learnt how to ride a quad bike and had an archery competition.

Class teacher Sarah Roberts said: “Being challenged is only half of the learning experiences that we are aiming for. It’s also about showing empathy for each other and becoming more independent by staying a night away from home.”
