THE PEOPLE of Liphook came together for the annual Carols in the Square last night (Monday).

More than 350 people turned up, and organiser Terry Burns was very pleased with how the evening went.

Terry said: “It went very well. It is always wonderful and I was thrilled to bits that more than 350 people came.

“Everyone got involved and people said it starts their Christmas. It makes it feel like Christmas in the village.

“Haslemere Town Band did a marvellous job and they do a terrific job every year.

“We also had a collection for Liphook Day Centre and Liphook Laundry.

“I couldn’t do any of this without the help of my darling wife Carole, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without all of my sponsors.

“I also wouldn’t be able to do any of this without all the family and friends and all the support they give us.

“I would also like to thank Liphook in Bloom for the wonderful Christmas lights.”
