LISS villagers were invited to see the spectacle of the Queen’s birthday parade in London live on the big screen at the Triangle Centre on Saturday.
Trooping the Colour was on just before 1pm, and was shown live on the big screen at the centre. The coffee bar was open from 9.30am, and there was free entry for everyone.
Triangle Centre manager Sally Tanner said: “We had about 20 to 30 people watching Trooping the Colour, and they were all quite quiet and were watching it quite intently.
“The coffee bar was also open and was quite busy, which was good for us.
“This was the first time we showed Trooping the Colour, and we did it for the Queen’s 90th birthday.”
The Queen’s birthday was also celebrated in Greatham, where a street party was held on Sunday afternoon to mark the occasion.
Wendy Wakelin, who attended the event in the village, said: “It was busy considering the weather and there was a really lovely atmosphere.
“There were three lovely steam engines there for the afternoon event, and we all had a great time. There was also a barbecue and a few stalls. Thanks to all the people who organised the event.”
