LISS Archaeological Group (LAG) has completed its annual spring dig at the Romano-British site in Colemore.

LAG archaeological director Juliet Smith said: “The spring dig went really well and we had a really good turnout of volunteers.

“We had Scouts visiting the site and we were visited by the Wealden Iron Research Group.

“Some children from Herne Junior School came here and had a go at metal detecting, and we also had visitors from Selborne Primary School.

“Students from Sparsholt College also came to the site and looked at things from a farming perspective.”

LAG will return to Colemore for the annual autumn dig from Friday, September 22, to Tuesday, October 17.
