LISS Horticultural Society’s autumn show was very well supported again this year.

There were some very good quality exhibits across all classes despite the weather in the preceding few days.

Ian Haussauer won the Marden Trophy for the exhibitor with the most points overall, and he also achieved the most points in section A dahlias and won the best display of vegetables. Haussauer was also awarded a bronze certificate from the National Dahlia Society for his vase of five pompon dahlias.

Jenny Hall won a voucher for the most points in section B flowers and produce.

Steve Amos won the best collection of vegetables exhibit and was awarded a National Dahlia Society silver certificate for a vase of three semi-cactus dahlias.

The Irene Dance Vase for the best vase of garden flowers was won by Sid Newman.

Graham Clark won the class for the best pot of dahlias grown from a plug provided by the society in the spring, and he was also awarded a National Dahlia Society silver certificate.

Gardeners’ question time took place while the exhibits were being judged. Money raised will be donated to The Rosemary Foundation.
