EAST Hill House has been awarded Best Dementia Care Home at the National Dementia Care Awards 2017.
The care home in Liss is managed by Samantha Booty and provides residential and specialist dementia care for up to 32 elderly residents.
Samantha and her colleague Zoe Heath attended the judging day last month and the winners of the national awards were announced at a gala night at Doncaster Racecourse on November 9, following the UK Dementia Congress.
The event was hosted by John Middleton, who won a multitude of praise for his portrayal of a person living with dementia in ITV’s Emmerdale.

“I am so proud to have a dedicated, hard-working, integrated team that utilises a broad range of skills and experience to deliver great care and provide a first class home.
“This is a huge lifetime achievement for us all at East Hill House.”
Residents have an active role in the day to day running at East Hill House, where the aim is to ensure a real home from home environment.
The home ensures residents are fully involved – from monthly meetings with the manager, meeting with the activities co-ordinator to choose what activities and events are planned and discussing what is working – to giving the gardener his weekly tasks that they consider to be the most important.
